Custom Artificial Pine Tree for a Restaurant in Florida

Project Overview

A restaurant owner in Florida needed a custom artificial pine tree that would fit onto an existing planter base inside the dining area. The tree had to match specific length, width, and height requirements to sit properly on the base and fit the space.

The Brief

The client had one main requirement:

  • Fit an existing planter base — the tree had to be produced to specific dimensions so it would sit securely and look natural on the base the client already had.

Challenges

Two challenges shaped this project:

  1. Multiple size restrictions — because the tree had to fit an existing planter base, every dimension had to be carefully matched. This required extra attention during production, especially when welding the internal steel frame.
  2. Longer production time — building a tree with so many size restrictions takes more time than a standard model. Each step—from the internal steel structure to the outer bark finish—had to be checked against the client’s measurements.

Our Solution

Made-to-order sizing: We produced the tree based on the client’s specific dimensions. Our team paid close attention to every measurement throughout production, from the steel frame to the final bark texture.

Careful welding of the internal frame: The internal steel structure was welded with extra care to ensure the tree would stand securely on the existing planter base.

Hand-finished trunk: The trunk was hand-sculpted with realistic bark texture, giving the tree a natural, bonsai-style appearance suitable for a restaurant setting.

Delivery coordination: The tree was packed and shipped by sea. Because the client’s location was in a commercial area with delivery restrictions, we worked with our freight forwarder and the local trucking company to arrange a truck with a lift gate. This ensured the tree could be unloaded smoothly without requiring the client to arrange additional equipment.

The Result

The client was happy with the finished tree. When they opened a new restaurant location, they ordered a second custom tree, built to fit the new space at a different address in Florida.

Key Takeaways for Similar Projects

  • Custom sizing is possible—just provide your existing base dimensions and space requirements
  • Trees with multiple size restrictions require extra production time and careful welding
  • Hand-sculpted fiberglass trunks deliver realistic texture for close-up viewing
  • Delivery to commercial areas may require special truck arrangements
